Is therapy right for me?
Seeking therapy is an individual choice. There are many reasons why someone might seek therapy services for themself or their child. Therapy can help with the challenges associated with anger, depression, trauma, anxiety, or behavioral concerns. Therapy can also support someone or a family through unexpected life changes or transitions. Working with a therapist can help provide insight, support, and give you new strategies for all types of life challenges.
Therapy services might be beneficial if your symptoms are affecting your day to day functioning.
For an adult this may look like:
Avoiding social interactions or having trouble in relationships
Trouble sleeping
Decline in work performance
Feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and/or worthlessness
Increased worry
Thoughts of self-harm
For a child this may look like:
Avoiding social interactions or having trouble in relationships
Decline in performance at school
Withdrawing from things they used to enjoy like extracurricular activities or spending time with friends
Acting out in unusual ways
Regressing back to accidents, separation anxiety, baby talk, etc.
Increase in physical symptoms like headache or stomach ache
